Eastside Stomp is the name for a collective of swing dance teachers and enthusiasts based on the Eastside of the Greater Seattle area. We are dedicated to teaching, performing, preserving, evolving and promoting the many vintage-based forms of swing dance, as well as the music and style of the Swing Era.

We specialize in Lindy Hop, Balboa, Collegiate Shag, Tap Dance and Charleston. We believe strongly in social dancing as the basis and reason for everything we teach in our lessons. For the staff of Eastside Stomp, swing dancing is about more than flashy moves and steps (although we certainly teach those…), but rather about good connection, great lead and follow skills, and above all else, having ridiculous amounts of fun.

At the moment, we offer monthly series classes in Lindy Hop and Balboa, host two great weekly dances, travel monthly to teach swing workshops, and give private lessons. Details on all these things are scattered around the website, so feel free to check it all out and call or email us if you have any questions!

flahiffwhiteBEN WHITE is by far the tallest member of the Eastside Stomp staff and also the hungriest. Ben is among the most dedicated lindy hoppers in the area, going out social dancing basically every single night it’s available. He is really happy to be teaching and dancing for a living. REALLY happy. Ben’s website features information about him and it’s HERE.

PETER FLAHIFF has been a swing dancer for a long time and loves nothing more than to teach and dance all the time. Oh, and DJing swing music. He likes to do that too, a lot. He has been lucky to do this all over the place and plans to keep it up as long as he can. Peter’s WEBSITE has more information about him than you can shake a stick at.

MARK SMITH has been with Eastside Stomp since opening night back in March 2007, and has been on staff almost from the get-go! Mark has taught swing wherever he found himself, sometimes around Seattle, sometimes in Montana, sometimes in Cambodia! He brings amazing enthusiasm and drive to his dancing, as well as a keen desire to spread his love for swing dancing. Mark wants to be your friend.
