IMPORTANT! SCHEDULE CHANGES FOR CLASSES, JANUARY ONLY!!! STARTING THIS WEEKEND!!!!

Hello everyone! Sorry for the last-minute changes to the new schedule; there has been a scheduling mix-up/conflict with Kirkland Dance Center on our new class schedule, so there are the following adjustments FOR JANUARY ONLY!

Friday Nights — Balboa Fundamentals, 6pm - 7pm & Lindy Hop Fundamentals, 7pm -8pm

Saturday Afternoons: Balboa Improvers 2:30 - 3:30 / Lindy Hop Improvers 3:30 - 4:30 / Balboa Progressions 4:30 - 5:30 / Lindy Hop Progressions 5:30 - 6:30 / FEATURED CLASS: SOLO JAZZ MOVES 6:30 - 7:30

This month, Eastside Stomp is proud to welcome the phenomenal ROBIN NUNNALLY, dance champ, amazing follow and member of Seattle’s legendary Sister Kate dance team. She will be sharing her great ideas on technique and styling for follows in all our classes!!! DON’T MISS OUT!!!


ALL-NEW FOR JANUARY: THE NEW AND IMPROVED LINDY & BALBOA CLASSES AT EASTSIDE STOMP!

We are so excited for the new year! January kicks off a whole new series of classes in Lindy Hop and Balboa and we have COMPLETELY OVERHAULED each and every class. If you’ve never taken these classes, now is the perfect time to join! If you HAVE taken them, you should really consider coming through again — they are seriously that good! New material, improved techniques and lots more — PLUS TONS of amazing stuff for the followers this year…details on that are coming soon.

LIVE MUSIC THIS FRIDAY NIGHT: THE SOLOMON DOUGLAS TRIO!

solomondouglaspicWe are so proud and excited to announce that we have the SOLOMON DOUGLAS TRIO performing at Eastside Stomp on Friday, November 26th (the day after Thanksgiving)!

Solomon Douglas is a phenomenal pianist, bandleader AND swing dancer. His band (in all its configurations) is one of the most beloved and sought-after groups for swing dancing in the entire WORLD, and we’re lucky to have him living locally, and as a friend. If you’ve danced to his band before, you already know how AWESOME they are. If you haven’t yet, don’t miss this night…

We are always happy to have live swing music to dance to, and to finally get Solomon Douglas in the room is a particular joy for us, so please make your plans now to join us for what promises to be a downright SPECTACULAR evening of swing music and dancing. (Plus: dance off the Thanksgiving dinner…)

NORMA MILLER AT EASTSIDE STOMP, VALENTINES DAY AFTERNOON!

NORMA MILLER, One of the last remaining members of Whitey’s Lindy Hoppers and a true pioneer of the dance,normais coming to Seattle! Join us on Sunday, February 14th (yes, Valentine’s Day…) for a spectacular afternoon with one of the most incredible personalities you’ll ever meet!

Eastside Stomp is proud to host Norma Miller for an afternoon of music, stories and fun! We start with a screening of the documentary of Norma’s life, “The Queen of Swing”, followed by a panel discussion with this incredible woman. After this, Norma will be autographing copies of her autobiography, “Swing, Baby, Swing”!

This whole experience is just $10, so set aside a little time this Valentine’s Day to spend with the sweetheart of Lindy Hop, Norma Miller!

HOP FOR HAITI FUNDRAISER THIS TUESDAY, JANUARY 26th

hophaitiposter2Help donate to the relief efforts in Haiti! Eastside Stomp is donating every single penny that comes through the door for their Tuesday Night Dance on January 26th to Doctors Without Borders!

If you’ve been concerned about the plight of the suffering in Haiti following the devastating earthquake there but haven’t gotten around to donating, or aren’t sure how do help out, this is an easy way to do it, PLUS it’s a night of great swing dancing!

Admission is just the usual $5 at the door (although you are certainly welcome to donate more!!!) and you can dance the night away til midnight, helping a worthy cause: Doctors Without Borders!

This fundraising event is part of a larger nationwide movement on the swing scene, conceived and coordinated by Rusty Frank in Los Angeles, with many other scenes pitching in over the next two weeks, including New York City, Phoenix, Orange County, Orlando and now SCOTLAND! It’s international!!!
